After buying my brochure at the tourism office, I hopped on board the bus in direction of Val-de-Ruz. The trip took just under a half-hour and I got off in Cernier, the main village of the district. Today, I had decided to explore the Seyon river and the history all around it. Along the route, my brochure proved to be very helpful, furnishing interesting details about this region, together with various information panels. Buildings, historic facts, fauna and flora, I learned quite a lot about this area. What is more, I had a wide choice of restaurants at my disposal all along the way, offering local specialities to taste. I will definitely have to come back to do another hike and enjoy a new local dish.
The chemins chouettes: a type of educational itinerary to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the Val-de-Ruz on foot, following the principles of ecotourism.
