“Little red train, Gare de Glovelier, clear blue sky. I board the train to travel across the Franches-Montagnes. It will only climb as far as Saignelégier. Like a snake in the grass, the train weaves its way between the rocks through the Tabeillon coomb. Then, we come to the plain, intersected with little valleys, where I admire the Jura farms, the Franches-Montagnes horses, the cows and the pools, all protected by the majestic spruces, like gigantic wood statues bordering a royal Roman road. When we get to Saignelégier, lots of passengers get on and off the train. There are people with scooters and bikes, even electric ones. Then the train sets off and continues on its way. Every now and then, it will leave the route as if to allow those on board to discover the magic of the landscape. Enchanted with all these visions, I get off the little train at La Chaux-de-Fonds.”
The network essentially serves the Franches-Montagnes plateau and the Porrentruy–Bonfol en Ajoie section. Porrentruy, Glovelier, Tavannes and La Chaux-de-Fonds stations are access points for the network.
