"After a large glass of fruit juice loaded with vitamins, we set out on the first section of this circular route today. From Neuchâtel rail station, we rode along the shores of the lake and Thielle canal as far as Lake Biel. The excellently preserved historic castle of Landeron is the first "must-see" cultural attraction on the route. A little further on comes the Château de Cressier. The ascent towards Chaumont is quite demanding, but the superb panorama over the Swiss Midlands (Mittelland) and the Alps took our minds off the effort. After slightly less than 5 hours, we reached Dombresson, firmly resolved to tackle another stage in the coming days."
