The smell of chocolate is mentioned by many Neuchâtel residents when the subject of Suchard’s industrial enterprise in Serrières comes up. But Suchard didn’t only leave its mark in terms of heritage and memories, it also contributed to the creation of a know-how and a love of chocolate. The canton of Neuchâtel now has several well-known chocolate and sweet makers. It’s also thanks to their talent that the “food of the gods”, as chocolate was called in the olden days, continues to delight our palates. For a gentler start to winter, eat as much as you want... yum yum..."
Chantal Lafontant Vallotton, Curator of the historical department at the Museum of Art and History in Neuchâtel
