"After an action-packed Saturday and a long lie-in, our stomachs were rumbling when we woke up on Sunday morning. So, comfortably seated in the huge wood-panelled dining-room of this utterly charming restaurant, we started with savouries: regional cheeses and cold cuts, boiled eggs and smoked salmon, washed down with a glass of sparkling Mauler wine! The waitress who brought our coffee advised us to sample one of the house specialities: Travers buffalo mince. A real treat! Luckily, we still had a little room left for dessert – because we'd been eyeing the braided loaves and the home-made jams since we arrived. After this delicious country brunch, our batteries were sufficiently recharged for a walk along the river Areuse in the sunshine."
